About Laya Yoga
Laya Yoga is a Leeds based Isha Hatha Yoga initiative, guided and inspired from the efforts of Mr. Shybu Rajan, the Isha Foundation certified, Hatha Yoga teacher affiliated to Isha Yoga foundation founded by Padma Vibhushan Jaggi Vasudev, known publicly as Sadhguru who is an Indian yogi and author of several books, including Inner Engineering: A Yogi’s Guide to Joy (2016).
Prior to joining Isha Foundation Shybu was teaching yoga for the past 20 years.
Laya yoga is a yoga form in which dissolution of self and merging with the Supreme Consciousness are achieved. Laya is a Sanskrit term meaning “dissolve.” Laya yoga leads to the state of samadhi, which is the highest unification with the Divine. It leads the mind from the state of manifestation and dissolution to moola Prakriti, meaning “original state.”
Isha Hatha Yoga essentially seeks to spread the teachings of the immemorial, time-honoured science of power Yoga, aiming to provide a peaceful oasis in a world dominated by rat-races and fast-paced lives. Such meditative approach and technique hidden in the books of the historic art, aims to provide yogics an opportunity to explore the deeper realms and true essence of not just Yoga, but also one’s soul and the driving principles of this haphazard, chaotic world we reside in.
Our head teacher and founder, Shybu has been practising Hatha Yoga for more than two decades, spending more than 6 hours daily in Sadhana, however it is only with the modern technique of Isha Hatha Yoga, he has been able to bring the mirage of such peace, stillness and understanding to life. It is in light of such discovery and zeal to spread such a message, that Laya Yoga came to life. We aim to cater to a diverse audience, attracting people from all walks of life, willing to explore the realms of their being.
We aim to create a bewitching yet unforgettable experience in the embrace of peace by offering full range of Hathaway Yoga Classes. Our vision thus can be simply defined as ‘ peace and balance to all.’
